Weekly Practice

PATIENCE, KINDNESS, AND GOODNESS: Generosity

WE ARE SURROUNDED by and inundated with a myth of scarcity, or the idea that we must protect what we have because there is not enough to go around. As people living in God’s kingdom, though, we are ruled not by scarcity but by abundance. God has more than enough, and he shares it freely. Everything we have has been given to us. It is all “manna,” given to us daily by our more-than-generous God. God’s provision makes it possible for us to be generous as well, no matter how much we have. This week, practice generosity as you buy someone’s coffee, give to a ministry, or get a grocery gift card for a neighbor who needs it. As you do, be reminded of and grateful for the ways God has been generous toward you.

Have a blessed week!
