PATIENCE, KINDNESS, AND GOODNESS: Help in Real Ways

WE ARE ACCUSTOMED to saying polite things like, “I’ll be praying for you,” or, “I’m sorry; I hope things get better. “Those kinds of comments and sentiments are certainly not bad! But this week, when you are confronted with a neighbor’s need, go a step further than the typical response. Look for a tangible, appropriate way to help the person in need. Stop and offer to pray with the person on the spot rather than praying privately (or forgetting) later. Even if it’s an inconvenience, offer a ride, bring a meal, or look for the lost cat yourself—rather than hoping someone else will do it.
