Weekly Practice

FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, AND SELF-CONTROL: Praying “Your Kingdom Come”

JESUS HAS INSTRUCTED us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). When we pray this, we are asking that God would have full authority as King to do whatever he wants, however he wants. And the first piece of earth where we are asking God to be King is in us. This week, pray this prayer as often as you can. You may want to write it on a card and place it somewhere you will see it often. Be prepared to hear from the Spirit regarding places within you where God is not King.
