PENTECOST SUNDAY: Prayer Walk

Scripture: Ezekiel 37:1-4

THE BREATH OF God’s Spirit brings life wherever it blows, and like Ezekiel, we are invited to participate in the process of bringing dead things to life. This week, set aside at least thirty minutes to walk around your own neighborhood or (if they are different) the neighborhood around your church. As you do, look for signs of life: new construction, babies and young children, schools, gardens, neighbors in conversation. Give thanks for the new life you see, and pray that the fullness of God’s kingdom would flourish in each home, business, school, and conversation. Also keep your eyes open for signs of dry bones: abandoned buildings, empty sidewalks, overgrown lots, discarded trash/litter. Pray that the Spirit of God would breathe resurrection life into the people and systems represented. If one landmark stands out to you during your walk, make note of it, and return often to pray for life to flourish there.

Have a blessed week!
